Today we had the pleasure of welcoming the Minister for Education – Hon Sarah Courtney MP to our school. The Minister visited students in our STEM class, the bike track, kitchen/garden space and some classrooms. It was a pleasure to speak with the Minister about exciting projects happening across our school and for students to share their thoughts and learning with the Minister.
Father’s Day Stall
Last week our School Association held a Father’s Day stall which was well supported by our community, I would like to thank our volunteers for supporting the stall in particular Rachel for her ongoing organisation! The stall helped raise over $1000 for our school.
Learn to Swim – Year 3-6
It has been amazing to see the progress in week 2 shown by many students participating in the learn to swim program. This week students have been undertaking swim and survival sessions including boat safety at the pool. We would like to thank Mr Bailey for his organisation and flexibility of staff to support the program.
Year 4-6 Student Survey
Our Year 4-6 students have nearly all completed the survey with a few to catch up over the next 2 days. The survey results will help our school to understand the wellbeing needs of students and for the Department of Education to support these needs. The survey has been open from 23 August to 17 September. The survey will provide valuable data on the wellbeing of students’ and identify key issues that may need addressing (eg belonging; connectedness to school).
Parent Surveys
Our school parent survey is now available and ready for completion by community members. Relevant information has now been sent to families, we encourage you to complete the survey which will inform our school planning and decision making in the future. KISS & DROP
A friendly reminder that the school 'Kiss & Drop' zone is not for car parking - please do not leave your vehicle unattended in this zone.
STUDENT PICK-UP
If you need to collect students throughout the school day for appointments please arrive in time to allow us to locate your child. We do not call to the classroom until you have arrived. This limits interruptions to the class and avoids your child missing out on valuable learning time. Thank you for you co-operation.
UPDATING STUDENT DETAILS
It is vital for the school office to have updated details for all students. In the event of a medical issue or emergency event this information is crucial in the care and response that we provide for your child/children. Please ensure to update information with the office staff as required: emergency contact details, phone numbers, address details and any changes to your childs' medical needs eg. asthma, anaphylaxis.

1/2 Granger/Allen have had a busy Term 3 learning about lots of different things!
In Maths we have been focusing on measurement, and we particularly enjoyed creating our own ‘area robots’. We loved getting creative with them and working out their total area.
In English we have been working hard at improving our spelling and have enjoyed interactive writing to create a book about Spring. We are looking forward to our excursion at the end of the term to the Mornington Tip, to support our inquiry into sustainability next term.
In Term 3, 1-2 Howell have been exploring procedural writing. With our buddy class 5-6 Lewinski, we researched how to make chocolate chip cookies.
We found a recipe and organised the ingredients, equipment, and the method.
We then followed the recipe to make our cookies in class.
The students have been learning valuable life skills during our inquiry into ‘Science in the Kitchen’.
1/2 Smith/Parker have had a very busy Term 3!
We have celebrated Book Week and had a prac student, Miss Dillon, for 4 weeks.
We have had a huge focus on procedure writing and loved making pizzas as part of this with Miss Dillon.
We have our excursion to the Mornington Tip coming up to get us ready to learn about sustainabllity in Term 4.
